De-Installation / Removal
A. If your equipment is monitored by a Monitoring Center:-
- Fax the Information Change Form to the Monitoring Center on the same day that the unit is to
be removed from the participant’s residence. It is important that the ACU does not continue to
call into the monitoring center after the termination date. If the ACU cannot be retrieved from
the residence have the participant disconnect the telephone cord until it can be picked up.
B. If you monitor your own equipment:-
- Assure the participant‘s sentence ends on the same day that the unit is removed from the
participant’s residence.
1. Turn the ACU Off: Press and hold the iRX button on the LOCK until “Please Wait...” is
displayed on the ACU. When “B=Turn ACU Off” is displayed, press button “B” on the ACU.
Disconnect the AC power adapter from the standard 110 volt electrical outlet. The ACU will turn
off in approximately five seconds.
2. Disconnect the ACU: Disconnect the AC power adapter from the back of the ACU. Disconnect
the telephone cord from the ACU and wall jack. Place the ACU, AC power adapter and telephone
cord into the carry / storage case.
3. Remove the iTX: A pair of #170 shears have been supplied for removing the iTX from the
baseplate. On each end of the iTX are two channels with a small hole at the bottom of each.
Place the points of the shears into the holes and cut the plastic, twisting the shears after making
the cut. (Refer to the pictures on the following page.) You must cut both ends in this manner.
This will release the baseplate from the iTX. You can now pull the iTX away from the baseplate
and remove the strap from the baseplate. Check that the piece of plastic cut from the baseplate is
removed from the end of the iTX.
