Whenyoude‐selecttheobjectonthebuildtray,itisdisplayed,by
default,withthecolorofthematerialyouselected.Inthesameway,
youcanassignmodelmaterialstoeachoftheindependentobjectson
thebuildtray.
Note: If the model-material color is not displayed, click the object-color-
display switch.

Coating
Objects
Youcanprintcompositemodelswherethesurfacelayerisadifferent
materialthantheinside.Thiscanbeusefultoachieveuniquemechanical
andtexturalcharacteristics.Thistechniqueiscalled“coating.”
To coat an object with a different model material:
1. Selectanobjectonthebuildtray.
2. Intheobjectpropertiesdialogbox(seefigure 5‐18),click
TheCoatwithdialogboxopens.
3. Select
Coat withand,fromthepull‐downmenu,selectthecoating
material.
