Remove ash from the Woodburning tray with a small shovel
and place into a Stovax Ash Caddy (Stovax Part No. 4227)
or other suitable container.
3.2 Carefully lift the Woodburning plate and rotate through the
front of the appliance.

3.3 Clean with a suitable cleaner.
3.4 Replace in reverse order.
4. Fitting a new Door Glass
4.1 To maintain the safe use of your appliance you may need to
replace a damaged door glass.
4.2 Using the appliance with a damaged door glass could cause
dangerous fumes to enter the room, or the appliance to over-
re,resultingindamage.
To do this:
4.3 Remove the round door rope.
4.4 Remove the 4 glass clips that the door rope was sat in, by
unscrewing the screws around the edge.
4.5 The glass can be lifted out and replaced.
4.6 Take note of the roping around the edge of the door glass
around the edge. This will also need replacing.
5a. Fitting a new Door Seal
To maintain the safe use of your appliance you need to
replace damaged or worn door sealing rope.
To do this:
5a.1 Remove the door from the appliance, by opening the door
and lifting the door free of the hinge blocks on the left hand
side of the door.
5a.2 Laythedoorfacedownonasoftatsurface,toprotectthe
paintwork and glass.
5a.3 Remove the old rope and scrape old glue from the locating
groove.
5a.4 Clean the locating groove with a clean dry cloth to remove all
old dust and debris.
5a.5 Squeeze a generous bead of fresh Stovax Thermic Seal glue
into the rope locating groove.
5a.6 Press the new Stovax rope into the locating groove, placing
the joint in the middle of the lower edge of the door,
see Diagram 2.

5a.7 Retthedoorandclosethedoortoapplypressuretothe
new rope.
5a.8 Leave the door(s) closed for at least 12 hours before lighting
the appliance and run at a low temperature for approximately
one day. This allows the adhesive to fully bond to the seal.
5a.9 Using the appliance with a damaged door seal can cause
dangerous fumes to enter the room, or the appliance to over
re,resultingindamage.
5b. Fitting a new Back Brick Seal
The reverse of the back brick has a small sealed vent to
allow circulation of secondary air through the appliance.
To maintain the safe use of your appliance you need to
replace damaged or worn sealing rope.
To do this:
5b.1 Remove the back brick from the appliance, see pre-
installation, section 4.
5b.2 Lay the brick face down on a soft flat surface, to protect the
brick.
5b.3 Remove the old rope, being careful not to damage the
vermiculite.
