Pre-Installation Instructions
4. Removal of the Fire Bricks
4.1 Removetherebricksaspartoftheroutinemaintenance.
This can be carried out without the use of tools.
4.2 Allowtheappliancetocoolfullybeforeremovingrebricks.
4.3 Take care when handling, as bricks can become fragile after
use. Life span depends on the type of fuels burnt and the
level of use.
Replace damaged bricks as soon as possible.
4.4 Removethelogguardandbafe(seeSection2&3).
4.5 Multi-Fuel Models Only: The brick protector must be
removedpriortotheremovaloftherebricks.Liftfromthe
4slotsinthegrateandmanoeuvrethroughtherebox,see
Diagram 4.

Take care not to damage the rebricks.
— Remove the bricks in the correct order as shown in
Diagrams 5 and 6.

4.6 Usethengerholesinthesidebrickstotiltthebaseinwards
and slide out of the door opening.
4.7 Slide the top bricks to the centre of the box and manoeuvre
through the appliance.
4.8 With the side bricks removed there is space either side of the
backbricktoliftthroughtherebox.
4.9 Woodburning Only: Lift and remove the base bricks.
4.10 Re-install in reverse order.
5. Removal of the Multi-fuel Grate
5.1 The Multi-fuel grate can be removed for cleaning to maintain
good working condition.
To remove the grate:
— Remove the log guard to enable access (see Section 2).
— Remove the ashpan (see User Section 10, Diagram 35).
— Remove the firebricks (see Section 4).
— Tilt the centre grate downwards and lift to remove, see
Diagram 7.
