58 RAID Controller Configuration

Partitions
Partitions Greater than 2TB
If creating a RAID array larger than 2TB in total capacity, two (2) partitions will be created.
1. Partition 1 will be approximately 2TB.
2. Partition 2 will be the remaining capacity beyond 2TB (unless otherwise specified).
3. If equal partitions are desired, set Partition 2 to capacity = 0GB. Once Partition 2
capacity is changed, change Partition 1 to desired capacity.
SETTING UP MULTIPLE PARTITIONS
NOTE: Refer to sections "1 RAID Params" and "5 NVRAM" of this User's Guide for further
information.
1. Press <ENTER> to invoke the Password screen.
2. Enter password (default password = 00000000).
3. Partition configuration:
a. Use  keys to select 1 RAID PARAMS. Press <ENTER>.
b. Select 1.1 Array x (x=desired array) and press <ENTER>.
c. Select 1.1.1 Reconfig-RAID and press <ENTER>.
Select Yes and press <ENTER>.
d. Arrow down and select 1.1.4 Slice. Press <ENTER>.
e. Select Slice 0 and enter desired slice (partition) capacity. Press <ENTER>.
NOTE: Remaining capacity will be added to Slice 1 as a second partition.
