1 LIMITED WARRANTY STORCASE TECHNOLOGY, Incorporated (StorCase) warrants that its products will be free from defects in material and workmanship, subject to the conditions and limitations set forth below. StorCase will, at its option, either repair or replace any part of its product that proves defective by reason of improper workmanship or materials.
2 Warranty Claim Requirements To obtain warranty service, the defective product must be returned to your local authorized StorCase dealer or distributor, or, with prior StorCase approval, to the StorCase factory service center. For defective products returned directly to StorCase, a Return Material Authorization (RMA) number must be obtained by calling StorCase Customer Service at (714) 445-3455. The RMA number must be prominently displayed on the outside of the return package.

4 INTRODUCTION WARNING: The RhinoJR contains NO USER SERVICEABLE PARTS inside the unit. Refer ALL servicing to qualified service personnel! NOTE: For Windows® 98 applications, you will need to download the FJR110 USB driver from the StorCase web site (http://www.storcase.com/support/firmware.asp). The StorCase® Technology RhinoJR FJR110 1-bay FireWire 800/USB 2.0-to-IDE external expansion chassis provides low cost, rugged and reliable housing for 3.5 half-height storage devices.
5 Front Panel (Figure 2) Power Switch: Controls power to the chassis. NOTES: Disable FireWire or USB device on host computer desktop before turning OFF power (simply right-click on the Unplug/Eject Hardware Icon located in the System Tray and "disconnect"). For Microsoft® Windows® 2000 and FireWire applications, DO NOT turn on immediately after turning off power. Wait at least 15 seconds before turning power back on. LEDs: Power (Green) Steady glow indicates power ON.
6 Rear Panel (Figure 3) A/C Power In: Accepts U.S. and other available international standrard power cables. Contact StorCase for further ordering information. FW 800 Ports: These two (2) I/O connectors provide a standard interface for FireWire 800 (IEEE-1394b) signals. USB 2.0 Port: This I/O connector provides a standard interface for USB 2.0 signals. Cooling Fan: Fan provides ample chassis ventilation (5.0 CFM). Cooling Fan FW 800 Ports USB 2.
7 INSTALLATION CAUTION: Remove ALL power from the RhinoJR before removing the cover. The RhinoJR chassis contains NO USER SERVICEABLE parts inside the unit. Refer ALL servicing to qualified personnel! NOTES: A #2 Phillips screwdriver will be required for this procedure. For Windows® 98 applications, you will need to download the FJR110 USB driver from the StorCase web site (http://www.storcase.com/support/firmware.asp).

9 Installing the Drive into the Chassis NOTES: Removal of chassis cover and access panel are required to install the drive. Refer to your drive manufacturer's documentation for further information. 1. Carefully insert drive (not included) into the chassis. 2. Connect the I/O cable to the drive (Figure 6). 3. 10 4. Carefully turn the chassis over and bottom-mount the drive with four (4) #6-32 Phillips or M3 screws (both provided) as shown in Figure 7. 5. Reinstall access panel and cover onto the chassis.
