Work Area Protection
• Flooring protection paper
• Heavy-duty plastic sheeting
• Blue painter’s tape
Prep Materials
• All-purpose heavy-duty cleaner or degreaser
• All-purpose putty or patching compound
• 220-grit sandpaper
• 91% isopropyl alcohol
Undercoat
• Smooth surface bonding primer
• (3 qty.) 9″ x 1/4″ nap woven microfiber paint roller
Epoxy Mixing and Coloring
• 2.5- or 5-quart graduated mixing bucket
(with measurements)
• Drill with a 1-gallon paint-mixer bit or a large wood stir stick
• Small wood stir sticks
• Small plastic cups or containers
Epoxy Application
• 1/8″ x 1/8″ square notch trowel
• 2″ angled nylon paint brush
• Heat gun, propane torch, or hair dryer
• Paper towels or a microfiber rag
• Paint rolling tray
APPLYING OVER A SMOOTH OR GLOSSY SURFACE?
Application of a urethane-modified acrylic primer prior to the
undercoat is highly recommended to ensure an adequate bond
to the existing surface. Primer is available at your local hardware
store or at:

PROTECT YOURSELF
Put on all personal protection equipment
including rubber gloves, eye protection, mask,
and clothing/shoe protection.
PROTECT THE WORK AREA
Cover the floors in the work area with flooring
protection paper or heavy-duty plastic. Tape
the materials down with blue painter’s tape.
Protect any surfaces around the epoxy area.
Completely cover any cabinetry, appliances,
sinks, etc. with sheeting plastic and secure
with blue painter’s tape.
DEGREASE THE SURFACE
Clean and degrease the surface where the
epoxy will be applied using an all-purpose
heavy-duty cleaner/degreaser (sold separately).
Rinse and let dry.
PATCH, SAND, AND CLEAN THE
SURFACE
Fill any holes, seams, chips, or cracks with an
all-purpose putty/patching compound (sold
separately). Let dry and sand using 220-grit
sandpaper. Clean off all residue after sanding
with 91% isopropyl alcohol or other cleaner.

SAFETY FIRST
Before use, thoroughly read Safety Data Sheets and
product labels. Follow all safety precautions and
directions. Keep out of reach of children. Do not eat,
drink, or smoke when mixing material. Avoid getting
material on skin or in eyes. Wear gloves, such as butyl
rubber or nitrile rubber. Wash skin thoroughly with
soap and water after handling. Wear eye protection,
such as chemical safety glasses/goggles. If spilled,
collect spillage and avoid release to the environment.
Dispose of mixed material according to local, regional,
and national regulations.
