Obtaining Correct Length of
Nylon Lines with Automatic Feed
Mechanism
Always read and observe the
instructions in your brushcutter
instruction manual.
Start your brushcutter.
Hold the mowing head horizontally over a
bare, flat surface.
Run engine at full throttle until its speed
remains constant, i.e. steady engine
note. – Nylon lines are adjusted
automatically.
Let go of the throttle trigger and wait for
the engine to return to idle speed. Nylon
lines will be adjusted again to their final
length.
You may hear a brief knocking sound during
this adjustment – a slight jerk will be felt.
Repeat the above procedure a few times.
Switch off the engine and wait for the
mowing head to come to a complete
stop.
Checking Length of Lines
Pull the ends of the lines in the direction
of the blade on the deflector.
Correct line lengths:
- on models FS 160, 180, 220, 280, 290,
300, 310, 350, 400, 450, 480:
12 to 14 cm.
- on models FS 260, 360, 410, 460, 490:
15 to 17 cm.
The adjustment is OK if the line lengths are
within the above mentioned limits.
If lines extend right up to blade and have
been cut off several times (watch for pieces
of nylon line on ground):
Go to “Changing Setting of Mowing
Head”.
