18.1 REACH

Fault:
Engine not starting
Possible cause:
Motorstop lever not pressed
No fuel in tank; blocked fuel line
Scarifying unit not in transport position
Inferior, dirty or old fuel in tank
Dirty air filter
Spark plug socket detached from spark
plug; ignition lead not properly fastened
to socket
Dirty or damaged spark plug; incorrect
electrode gap
Remedy:
Press motorstop lever to handlebar and
hold (Ö 10.1)
Top up fuel; clean fuel line (Ö 7.3),
(@), (#)
Place scarifying unit in transport
position (Ö 7.5)
Always use fresh, good quality fuel,
unleaded petrol; clean carburettor (@),
(#)
Clean air filter (@), (#)
Connect spark plug socket; check
connection between ignition lead and
socket (@), (#)
Clean or replace spark plug; adjust
electrode gap (@), (#)
Fault:
Starting problems or deteriorating engine
power
Possible cause:
Scarifying unit not in transport position
Blocked scarifier housing
Mowing at an excessive working depth
or excessively fast pushing speed
Water in fuel tank and carburettor;
blocked carburettor
Contaminated fuel tank
Dirty air filter
Dirty spark plug
Remedy:
Place scarifying unit in transport
position (Ö 7.5)
Clean scarifier housing (detach spark
plug socket!) (Ö 11.2)
Set smaller working depth or reduce
pushing speed (Ö 7.6)
Empty fuel tank, clean fuel line and
carburettor (@), (#)

Engine overheating
Possible cause:
Oil level in engine too low
Dirty cooling ribs
Remedy:
Check oil level and change engine oil if

Excessive vibration during operation
Possible cause:
Defective scarifying unit
Loose engine mounting
Remedy:
Check blades, blade shaft, spacer
bushings, fastening and bearings of
scarifying unit and repair if necessary
