18 Troubleshooting Guide
The high-pressure pump
repeatedly switches on and
off without pulling the spray
gun trigger.
There is a leak in the high-pressure
pump, high-pressure hose or spray
attachment.
Have the pressure washer inspected and
repaired by an authorized STIHL servicing
dealer.
The water pressure
fluctuates or drops.
There is not enough water. Open the water tap fully.
Make sure that a sufficient quantity of water is
available.
The nozzle is blocked. Clean the nozzle, @ 16.2.
The water intake screen is blocked. Clean water intake screen, @ 16.3.
The high-pressure pump, high-pressure
hose or spray attachment is leaking or
faulty.
Ask a STIHL servicing dealer to inspect the
pressure washer.
The shape of the water jet
has changed.
The nozzle is blocked. Clean the nozzle, @ 16.2.
The nozzle is worn. Insert a new nozzle.
Detergent is not being drawn
in.
The detergent container is empty. Fill the container with detergent.
The nozzle of the detergent spray set is
blocked.
Clean nozzle of the detergent spray set.
The connections of the
pressure washer, high-
pressure hose, spray gun or
spray lance are stiff.
The gaskets of the connections have not
been greased.
Grease the gaskets. @ 17.3
Before troubleshooting, switch off the pressure washer and disconnect the unit from the power supply. Relieve all system
pressure by pulling the trigger switch. Lock the spray gun trigger.
