N Periodically clean the ventilation
slots and openings (1) on the
bottom with a dry brush or the like
N Turn over the machine and shake it
out – remove chips from the battery
compartment
N Clean the dust and dirt off the
machine – do not use any grease
solvents for this purpose
N Clean plastic parts with a cloth.
Harsh detergents can damage the
plastic
N Keep the guide grooves of the
battery free of dirt – clean if
necessary
N Set hand guard to ƒ
N Remove the battery
N Remove saw chain and guide bar;
clean and spray with protective oil
N When using biological chain oil
(e. g., STIHL BioPlus), fill the
lubricant oil tank
N Store the machine in a dry and safe
place, out of the reach of children
and other unauthorized users
Battery compartment cover
In some countries, the machine is
equipped with a cover for the battery
compartment. This keeps dirt out of the
battery compartment.
N After work, insert the cover (1) in the
compartment until the cover audibly
snaps into place
Battery storage
N Remove the battery from the
machine or charger
N Store the battery in a closed, dry
space and keep in a secure
location. Protect against
unauthorized use (e. g., by children)
and dirt
N Do not store backup batteries
unused – use them in alternation
For optimum service life, store the
battery at a charge of approx. 30 %.

N Remove the battery
N Disconnect the power plug
N Store charger in a closed, dry space
and keep in a secure location.
Protect against unauthorized use
(e. g., by children) and dirt
