Install a new brake band if there are
noticeable signs of wear (large
areas on inside diameter and/or
parts of outside diameter) and its
remaining thickness is less than
0.6 mm.
: Attach the brake band (1) to the
brake lever (arrow) from the side
and then turn it in the direction of
its seat.
: Swing the brake band into the
guide (arrow) first.

: Push the brake band (1) into its
guides (arrows).
: Push the brake band (1) into its
seat (arrow) as far as stop.
– Engage pegs on cover (1) in the
holes (arrows) and push it fully
home.

If the pegs have broken off, the
cover can be serviced.
– Drill out the recesses exactly in
the center (arrow):
a (1) = o 4.5 mm
b (2) = o 5.5 mm
– If a peg is stuck in the engine
housing, remove it by pushing it
inwards.
– Place the cover (1) in position.
– Fit D 5x16 screw (2) and P 4x16
screw (3) and tighten down firmly.
– Tightening torques, b 3.5
– Install the clutch drum,
b 6.1
– Reassemble all other parts in the
reverse sequence.
– Check operation.
