N Remove remainders of the roller
and starter rope
N Pull new starter rope downwards
from above through the handle and
the rope socket (5)
N Pull the starter trope through the
pulley (6) and secure it in the pulley
by a simple knot
N Wet the bearing bore of the pulley
with resin-free oil
N Insert pulley on the axle (7) - rotate
a little on either side until the lug of
the return spring engages
N Insert clips (4) in the pulley again
and set the plate (3) on the axle.
N Press the spring clap (2) using a
screwdriver or suitable pliers on the
axle and over the stud of the clip --

The starter handle must be pulled firmly
into the rope socket. If it tilts sideways:
Tighten the spring by another turn.
With fully tightened rope, it should ne
possible to turn the rope pulley further by
half a turn. If that is not possible, the
spring is too tightly tensioned - Danger
of breaking!
N Reduce one rope turn from the
pulley.
N Mount the fan housing on the
crankcase
N Set the combo lever on the stop
setting 0 and press the remaining
rope into the handle - until the nipple
closes with the handle

WARNING
The broken spring pieces can still have
residual tension and could spring back
to your surprise when removing from the
fan housing - Risk of injury! Wear face
shield and protective hand gloves.
N Lever out broken spring pieces
carefully using a screwdriver.
N Wet replacement spring with a few
drops of resin-free oil.
