WARNING
To reduce the risk of fire and burn injury,
use only spark plugs authorized by
STIHL. Always press spark plug boot (1)
snugly onto spark plug terminal (2) of the
proper size. (Note: If terminal has
detachable SAE adapter nut, it must be
securely attached.) A loose connection
between spark plug boot and ignition
wire connector in the boot may create
arcing that could ignite combustible
fumes and cause a fire.
Installing the spark plug
N Screw in the spark plug
N Press on the spark plug boot (1)
firmly
N Insert the air baffle (2) from above
N Mount carburetor box cover
Dismount the fan housing
N Undo screws (1)
N Push up the hand guard
N Pull out and take down the
underside of the fan housing from
the crankcase
Change the torn starter rope
N Carefully press out spring clap (2)
using a screwdriver or suitable
pliers
N Carefully pull out the rope roller with
pulley (3) and clips (4)
