18.1 Troubleshooting Shrub Shears, Battery and Charger
18 Troubleshooting
Condition LEDs on charger Cause Remedy
Shrub shears do not
start when switched
on.
Battery has low charge ► Charge the battery.
Battery too hot or too cold. ► Remove the battery.
► Allow battery to cool down / warm up.
There is a malfunction in
the shrub shears.
► Remove the battery.
► Clean contacts in battery compartment.
► Fit the battery.
► Switch on the shrub shears.
► If shrub shears still do not start when switched on:
Do not use your shrub shears and contact your
STIHL servicing dealer.
Cutting blades do not move
freely.
► Spray both sides of blades with STIHL resin
solvent.
► If shrub shears still do not start when switched on:
Do not use your shrub shears and contact your
STIHL servicing dealer.
Shrub shears are too hot. ► Remove the battery.
► Allow the shrub shears to cool down.
There is a malfunction in
the battery.
► Remove battery and insert it again.
► Switch on the shrub shears.
► If shrub shears still do not start when switched on:
Do not use the battery and contact your STIHL
servicing dealer.
No electrical contact
between the shrub shears
and battery.
► Remove battery and insert it again.
Shrub shears or battery
damp.
► Allow shrub shears or battery to dry.
Shrub shears cut out
during operation.
Shrub shears are too hot. ► Remove the battery.
► Allow the shrub shears to cool down.
