English KombiSystem Guide to Using this Manual Pictograms All the pictograms attached to the machine are shown and explained in this manual. + Symbols in text WARNING .. .. 002BA530 KN + Warning where there is a risk of an accident or personal injury or serious damage to property. In the STIHL KombiSystem a number of different KombiEngines and KombiTools can be combined to produce a power tool.
English Use only high quality tools and accessories in order to avoid the risk of accidents and damage to the machine. STIHL recommends the use of genuine STIHL tools and accessories. They are specifically designed to match the product and meet your performance requirements. The deflector on this power tool cannot protect the operator from all objects thrown by the cutting attachment (stones, glass, wire, etc.). Such objects may ricochet and then hit the operator.
English – Never attempt to modify the controls or safety devices in any way. During Operation Never operate your power tool with one hand. – Keep the handles dry and clean – free from oil and dirt – for safe control of the power tool. – Adjust harness and handle to suit your height and reach. See chapter on "Fitting the Harness". In the event of impending danger or in an emergency, switch off the engine immediately by moving the slide control / stop switch/button to 0 or STOP.
English Inspect the work area: Stones, pieces of metal or other solid objects may be thrown more than 15 meters and cause personal injury or damage the cutting attachment and property (e.g. parked vehicles, windows). Never continue using or attempt to repair damaged or cracked cutting attachments. This may cause parts of the cutting attachment to come off and hit the operator or bystanders at high speed and result in serious or fatal injuries.
English 002BA073 KN STIHL PolyCut 6-3 Mowing Head with Polymer Blades Mowing Head with Nylon Lines With the engine running, attach the machine to the shoulder strap. Nylon line achieves a soft cut for edging and trimming around fence posts, trees, etc. – less risk of damaging tree bark. WARNING To reduce the risk of injury, never use steel wire in place of the nylon cutting line.
English WARNING Approved KombiEngines If the wear limit marks are ignored, there is a risk of the cutting tool shattering and flying parts injuring the operator or bystanders. KombiEngines To reduce the risk of accidents from shattered blades, avoid contact with stones, metal and similar solid objects. Only KombiEngines supplied by STIHL or expressly approved by STIHL for use with the specific model are authorized. Check PolyCut blades for cracks at regular intervals.
