English / USA Fueling We recommend STIHL 50:1 two-stroke engine oil since it is specially formulated for use in STlHL engines. Do not use BIA or TCW rated (twostroke water cooled) mix oils or other mix oils that state they are for use in both water cooled and air cooled engines (e.g., outboard motors, snowmobiles, chainsaws, mopeds, etc.). Take care when handling gasoline. Avoid direct contact with the skin and avoid inhaling fuel vapor.

This setting provides an optimum fuel-air mixture under most operating conditions. Rule of thumb: Turn high speed screw (H) about 1/4 turn for every 3300 ft (1000m) change in altitude. : Shut off the engine. : Mount approved cutting tool. : Check the air filter and clean or replace it if necessary.

Always press spark plug boot (2) snugly onto spark plug terminal (1) of the proper size. (Note: If terminal has detachable SAE adapter nut, it must be attached.) A loose connection between spark plug boot and ignition wire connector in the boot may create arcing that could ignite combustible fumes and cause a fire.

Let go of rope slowly so that it winds onto the rotor. The starter grip must locate firmly in the rope guide bush.

Fit the replacement spring with housing – bottom plate must face up.
