10. Hold the pistol grip with your
right hand, and pull the cocking
slide to the rear, with your left
hand, with your palm facing up
and lock it in the rear position by
turning it clockwise and allowing
it to rest on the indentation on
the receiver;
11. Hold the barrel in your left hand
and slide it into the receiver, with
the forward pistol grip angled to
a position of about a quarter to
seven o’clock;
12. While pressing the barrel into
the receiver with your left hand,
turn the barrel counterclockwise
until it is fixed;
13. Move the cocking slide forward
by turning it counterclockwise
with the thumb of your left
hand;

Always pull the cocking
slide back with your palm facing
up as shown in the accompanying
photograph to prevent your knuck-
les from being cut or scraped on
any devices, such as optics, that
may be mounted on the Picatinny
rail of the receiver.
