Symptoms Probable Causes Recommended Action
1. Whirlpool does not
start/stop.
A. No power to the pump motor. A. Set or Reset the GFCI breaker.
Check the wiring. If the problem
persists, refer to your installer or
dealer.
B. Air actuator does not work. B. Check the air tube connections.
Replace the air actuator. Refer to
your installer or dealer.
C. Pump motor does not work. C. Replace the pump motor. Refer to
your installer or dealer.
2. Motor starts, all jets are
not functioning.
A. Jet is closed. A. Rotate the jet trim ring
counterclockwise to open.
B. Jets are blocked. B. Remove the blockage.
3. Whirlpool stops by itself. A. GFCI trips. A. Identify the source of fault and
correct it. If the problem persists,
refer to your installer or dealer.
B. Suction blocked. B. Remove the obstruction.
C. Jets are blocked. C. Remove the blockage.
D. The motor has overheated and
protection device has activated.
D. Check for blockage at the motor
vents. Remove blockage and allow
motor to cool. Check for suction
blockage. Remove the blockage and
allow motor to cool. Check for jet
blockage. Remove the blockage and
allow motor to cool.
4. Whirlpool is noisy. A. The pump banding straps that
hold the pump to the bath have
not been cut.
A. Cut the pump banding straps with
tin snips.
