D. Motor has overheated and
protection device has activated.

4. Whirlpool is noisy. A. Pump banding straps that hold
the pump to the whirlpool
have not been cut.
A. Cut the pump banding straps
with tin snips.
B. Jet O-ring is dry or dislodged
(squeal).
B. Remove jet, replace and
lubricate O-ring, and reinstall
jet.
5. Motor runs but pump won’t
prime (cavitates).
A. Pump is shimmed too high. A. Lower pump/control to
subfloor level.
B. Small air leak at pump inlet. B. Securely tighten nuts(s) on
intake side of pump.
C. Motor/pump is not working. C. Replace motor/pump. Refer to
installer/dealer.
D. Control is not working. D. Replace control. Refer to
installer/dealer.
6. Leakage is detected under the
whirlpool.
A. Piping leaks. A. Repair any piping leaks.
B. Sealant or gasket failure at
holes through finished walls,
shower door, or
wall-surrounds.
B. Replace any defective gaskets
or seals. Apply silicone sealant
as required.
7. Mold or mildew detected at
caulkless joints (for units with
wall surrounds).
A. Blocked channel drainage. A. Use a sharp wooden or plastic
object to scrape any buildup
from the seam. Increase the
frequency of cleaning.
8. Water damage at finished
walls.
A. Seam at finished wall not
sealed
A. Seal the seam with silicone or
other sealant as per the
manufacturer’s instructions.
