handling the rotor and knives.
4. Using the pull screws, withdraw the upstroke and downstroke
bed knives and downstroke shield away from the rotor knives
as far as possible. This will avoid any possible damage to the
rotor knives and bed knives. (Refer to Section 6-2-1 on page 23
for more information.)
5. Remove the left hand motor drive belt and sheave guard to gain
access to the belts and sheaves. (Refer to Section 6-2-4 on page
30 for more information.)
6. Loosen the motor base slide mount screws, and turn the
adjusting screw on the motor slide base to release all tension
from the belts. Remove the belts.
7. Pivot open the feed roll assembly from the top of the cutting
chamber.
8. Remove the rotor knives from the rotor
9. Loosen the set screws on the cartridge bearings, and remove
the screws that hold the bearings to the housing. Use jacking

10. Carefully support the rotor through the top opening of the
cutting chamber with the use of a sling.
11. On the drive side of the machine, use jacking screws to remove
the socket cap screws supporting the housing from the cutting
chamber.
12. Slowly withdraw the rotor through the side opening of the
cutting chamber.
!!Caution!!
When handling the rotor/cutter, leather-palmed gloves should be worn by the
maintenance mechanic. Even a dull rotor/cutter can give a nasty cut.
13. Carefully reassemble the rotor into the cutting chamber.
