5-3 Feeding the Granulator
Warning!
Under no circumstances should the operator attempt to reach into the infeed
chute to dislodge any bridged or jammed material while the granulator is in
operation. To clear the infeed chute of bridged or jammed material, the machine’s
Main Power switch must be turned to Off and the machine isolated.
Feed the granulator through the V-chute opening in the top of the
machine. The method of feeding the granulator depends upon the
physical form and nature of the material to be processed.
For maximum efficiency, the granulator should be fed at a rate that
is consistent with this capacity; i.e., if the granulator is rated at 132
Lbs./Hr. (60 Kg/Hr.), then the general feed rate is 2.2 Lbs./Min. (1
Kg/Min.). Under these operating conditions, the correct
proportions of cut and uncut particles will be present in the cutting
chamber.
NOTE: If feeding or granulating problems should occur, contact an
applications engineer immediately.
5-4 Machine Shut-Down
1. Stop all feed of material to the granulator.
2. Allow the granulator to continue running until the cutting
chamber is completely empty.
3. Press the drive motor Stop button to shut off the rotor drive
motor.
4. Press the Airveyor Stop button located at the blower motor
AFTER the granulator has stopped.
5. Turn the Main Power switch to Off.
