4 Installation
4-1 Electrical Connections
Granulator controls (if ordered) are shipped separately for
mounting at a suitable location. The safety switches are connected
to a common terminal box for ease of wiring. The customer is
required to provide a suitable fused electrical supply with a
disconnect switch and a cable for the incoming line to the starter (if
ordered with the machine). Safety switches are wired to a common
terminal box for ease of wiring.
If optional controls are required, an electrical wiring diagram will
be provided with the machine, in addition to the basic electrical
diagram provided in the manual.
When the customer is providing either the motor or the starter, the
machine must be wired in accordance with the basic electrical
diagram provided in the manual and the starter manufacturer’s
instructions.
Check to be certain that the starter heater elements correspond with
the motor requirements. If controls are not supplied, the limit
switches supplied on the machine must be wired into the circuits at
the common terminal box.
4-2 Preparing the Machine
The machine is shipped from the factory with a heavy oil-type rust
preventative coating which must be removed from the following
areas prior to making the necessary operating connections.
All metal surfaces that will contact the infeed materials in the
infeed chute
The cutting chamber, knives, and rotor
The screens and airveyor transition section in the machine’s base
The exterior of the machine
NOTE: Do not use solvent on any of the painted areas, as it may
affect them adversely.
