Attribute Filter
Assigning attribute values to your les facilitates organizing your media les. The Attribute lter
allows you to view and edit some of the standard le attributes that are found in your media les.
The Filters section displays all values that have been specied for the displayed attribute
categories. Selecting one of these values lters the results to display only the les to which this
attribute value is assigned.
1
Attribute column titles
Allow you to select different attribute categories. If the columns are wide enough, the
number of les that match these criteria is displayed to the right of the value.
2
Attribute values
Displays the attribute values and how often a certain attribute value is available among your
media les.
NOTE
Some attributes are directly linked to each other. For example, for each category value, there
are certain sub-category values available. Changing the value in one of these attribute
columns displays different values in the other column.
Each attribute column displays only the attribute values that are found.
Applying an Attribute Filter
With the Attribute lter, you can quickly nd tagged media les with certain attributes.
To apply an Attribute lter, select an attribute value.
The Results list is ltered accordingly. Apply more attribute lters to narrow down the result
even more.
To nd les that match either one or the other attribute, Ctrl/Cmd -click different attribute
values in the same column.
To change the displayed attribute values of a column, click the attribute column title and
select another attribute.
NOTE
Character attributes always form an AND condition.
Performing a Context Menu Search
You can search for other les that have the same attribute as the selected le. This allows you to
nd all the les that have a value in common, for example, if you want to view all the les that
were created on the same day.
In the Results list or the Attribute Inspector, right-click a le and select the attribute value
for which you want to search from the Search for submenu.
