4. Choose “The Updated Driver (Recommended)” and click Next.
5. Click Next again. If prompted for the Windows CD again, type “d:\win98” and click
OK.
6. Click Next, then Finish to complete the driver installation.
Windows Me
1. Windows should automatically detect the new hardware. At the Add New Hardware
Wizard window, click Next.
2. Select “Search for the best driver for your devices (Recommended)” and click Next.
3. Insert your Windows Me CD into your notebook’s CD drive. Select “CD-ROM
drivers” and click Next.
4. Click Finish.
5. Remove the CD and select Yes to restart your computer.
Windows 2000
Windows 2000 will automatically locate and install the required drivers.
Windows XP
1. At the Add New Hardware Wizard window, click Next.
2. Select “Search for the best driver for your devices (Recommended)” and click Next.
3. Select “Specify the location”, type in “C:” and click Next.
Mac Installation
If you are installing a FireWire card on an older Macintosh system (before 9.1), you may
need to download Apple FireWire Software from the Apple support website. If you are
using OS 9.1 or above, you should already have FireWire support on your system and
can disregard the instructions below.
1. Visit www
.apple.com and click on the Support tab. Choose Download.
2. In the “Search for Downloads box,” type “FireWire” and click Go.
3. Depending on your OS, choose one of the following options:
• For OS 8.6 or 9.0 choose “FireWire 2.2.2 and 2.3.3: Information and Download”
• For 9.02, 9.03, or 9.04 choose “FireWire 2.5 and 2.4 Document and Software”
4. Click on the Read Me icon for your language and read the instructions.
NOTE: Be sure to click on the “Help: Downloading Software” link for more information
on downloading FireWire software.
5. Click on the Software icon to complete the installation.
