Apple Mode denition:
Apple Mode is a proprietary charging mode developed by Apple, which redenes
the other two pins of the USB connector, enabling them to send current and increase
charging speed (same theory as DCP mode in BC 1.2 version, but with dierent voltage
levels on the pins).
Detailed as follows:
1A Mode: VCC:5V/GND:5V/D+:2.0V/D-:2.7V (compatible with Apple products that need
1A current input, such as iPhones, IPods and iPads)
2A Mode: VCC:5V/GND:5V/D+:2.7V/D-:2.0V (compatible with Apple products that need
2A current input, such as iPads or iPad minis)
BC 1.2 Mode ( Battery Charging Specication 1.2) denitions:
SDP: Standard Downstream Port, dened under USB 2.0 & 3.0 specication. Charging
limits: 500mA / USB 2.0; 900mA/USB3.0
DCP: Dedicated charging Port, for charging only. To increase charging eciency in DCP
mode, D+ and D- will short out and cannot transmit data. **ST7CU35122 uses this mode
only.
CDP: Charging Downstream Ports. USB ports under this mode can transmit data.
