Introduction The PCI1S650PW 1 Port PCI RS232 Powered Serial Adapter Card offers an easy way to add self-powered serial devices to your computer, POS solution, or manufacturing application. The adapter provides a high-performance serial port that can be configured to deliver 5 or 12 volts of power to compatible devices, and for additional flexibility, this card can be used in PCI (5 volt) or PCI-X (3.3 volt) expansion slots and supports both Windows® (including 64-bit editions) and Linux environments.
Installation This section will guide you through the installation of your PCI card and the related software. Please read through the instructions carefully and complete each step in the order listed. Installing the Card PCI Slots 1. Make sure that your system is unplugged and you are grounded. 2. Remove the cover of your system (see your computer’s user manual for details, if necessary) and gently turn your computer onto its side. 3.
Configuring the Jumpers The card uses jumpers to set internal and external power voltages, and to configure which serial ports will receive 5v, 12v, or RI signal (unpowered) through the 9th pin.
