Before work
Check network voltage: it should conform to the data on the machine’s label. Tool
labeled with the 230 V, can be also connected to a power source with a voltage of 220
volts.
Replacing the cutters
Attention!
Always be sure that the tool is switched off and unplugged before installing or removing
the cutters.
Place the tool on a table with the planing base pointing towards you. Rotate the cylinder until the
first cutter is visible. Loosen the screws a few turns.
Place the cutter between the parts of the holder.
Keep the screening pressed and place the holder with the cutter in the cylinder.
Re-adjust the cutter.
Fix the cutter by fastening the bolts, opposed to the direction as shown.
To replace the other cutter, rotate the cylinder 180° and repeat the steps described above.
Setting the planing depth
Turn the adjustment knob (4) until the desired planing depth is reached. The depth setting can be
read from the scale (5).
Switching on and off
Attention:
Before using the tool, make sure that the cutters have been properly mounted. Do not
use the tool before it has been fully adjusted according to the instructions.
To switch the tool on, keep the lock button (2) depressed and press the on/off switch (1). To
switch the tool off, release the on/off switch (1).
During the operation
Planing
Clamp the work-piece. Make sure that the knives has reached full speed before they touch the
work-piece. Guide the machine at a constant speed across the material to be worked. Do not
guide the machine across the work-piece too fast. Allow the machine enough time to plane the
work-piece. Hold the machine with both hands using both grips. This ensures optimum control
over the machine.
For large surfaces it is recommended to make several shallow cuts at a smaller planing depth.
