Changing a switch setting
❏ After selecting a bank and switch, press the control panel’s PAPER FEED
button to turn the switch on and off. The current setting of the switch is shown
by the ON LINE indicator: the indicator is lit when the switch is on, and is not lit
when the switch is off.
Printing the current switch settings
❏ To print the current EDS switch settings while in the EDS Mode, hold down the
control panel’s ON LINE button and then press the PAPER FEED button.
Asterisks on the printout show whether a switch is turned on or off.
Exiting the EDS Mode
❏ To save EDS settings you have made and exit the EDS Mode, press the ON
LINE button.

❏ The following details all of the settings you can program in the EDS Mode. You
can print out a detailed overview of all the settings by performing a short test of
the printer (page 121).

Switch 1: Emulation
Selects Standard emulation (ON) or IBM emulation (OFF). Standard emulation
causes the printer to act like the Epson ESC/P (9-pin), while IBM emulation makes
it act like the IBM Proprinter III.

The function of this switch depends on whether you are using IBM or Standard
emulation.

Changement du réglage d’un commutateur
❏ Quand vous avez sélectionné une banque et un commutateur, appuyez sur la
touche PAPER FEED du panneau de commande pour activer ou désactiver le
commutateur. Le réglage courant du commutateur est indiqué par le voyant ON
LINE: le voyant est allumé quand le commutateur est activé et éteint quand il est
désactivé.
Impression des réglages des commutateurs
❏ Pour imprimer les réglages EDS courants du commutateur en mode EDS, tenez
la touche ON LINE du panneau de commande enfoncée, puis appuyez sur la
touche PAPER FEED. Des astérisques sont imprimés pour indicquer si un
commutateur est activé ou désactivé.
Sortie du mode EDS
❏ Pour sauvegarder les réglages EDS effectués et quitter le mode EDS, appuyez
sur la touche ON LINE.

Pour avoir un aperçu des réglages, vous pouvez les imprimer en effectuant un
test court (page 121).

Commutateur 1: Emulation
Il permet de sélectionner l’émulation standard (ON) ou IBM (OFF). En mode
standard, l’imprimante fonctionne comme une Epson FX-850, et en mode IBM, elle
fonctionne comme une imprimante IBM Proprinter III.
Commutateur 2: Table de caractères
La fonction du commutateur change suivant si l’imprimante est en mode standard ou
IBM.
