Subscriptmodeprintscharactersat halfof the normalheightiin the lower

partoftieline space.Superscriptmodeprintscharactersathalfofthenormal

height,butintheupperpartofthelinespace.Youmaywantsubscriptsand

superscriptsfor foomotenumbers or mathematicalformulas. The o~y

restrictionis that you can’t use subscriptsand superscriptswith double-

stnke mode.

You switchto subscriptor superscriptmodewiththiscommand:

<ESC>S n

in whichif youmaken anyevennumberyouget superscriptmode,and if

youmakei any odd numberyou get subscriptmode.

Youcancelsubscriptor superscriptmodewith thiscommand:

<ESC>T

Whenyou’reprintingyousometimessendaline,butthenchangeyourmind

anddon’twantto printit afterall.l%e Cancelcontrolcodelets you erase

fromyourprinter’smemoryjust thelastlineyousent.(If youcancela line

youwill alsocancelthe extendedprintmodeif you’vebeenusingit.)

By sendingthiscommandyoumakeyourprintercancelall the characten

youhavesentsincethelastcarriagereturnor linefeed:

Sometimesyouwantto deletefromthe printer’smemory,beforethe page

getsprinted,just thelastcharacteryouhavesent.Don’tconfusedeletinga

characterwith backspacing,whichdoesn’terase anythingfmm memory.
