5.5.14 Typeface
The StarLaserPrinter4 uses Courierfont as its defaultFX-850font.
You use the SelectEmulationsupersetcommandto switchinto another
emulationto selectacartridgeordownloadedfont,butyouwon’tbe ableto
bringthat fontbackintoFX-850mode.That’sbecauseFX-850emulation
alwaysstartswith Courieras its defaultfont.
5.5.15 Underline
The underlinecommandunder FX-850 emulationputs underlinesunder
spaces as well as characters.To turn underlineon or off you send this
command:
<ESC>– n
If n is an oddnumber,underliningis turnedon.
If n is an evennumber,underliningis turnedoff.
5.5.16MasterSelect
TheMasterSelectcommandis ashortcutyoucanuseto specifywhichfont
youwantto printwith.MasterSelectletsyoucombineseveralcommands
inone—halfof allthefontattributeswithonefellswoop.MasterSelectalso
cancelsthefeaturesyoudo
notselectwithit.
The onlyrestrictionis that you can’tcombinecondensedor monospaced
pitcheswithproportionalspacing.If youmixthemyou’lljust getpropor-
tionalspacing.
To selectamongthevariousprintoptions,usethis command:
