To removeallvenicaltab stops,sendthiscommand:

5.4.12 Veflicaltabsin channels

Thisnextpairof commands,whichletsyoustoreanduse severaldifferent

sets of verticaltabs, is rarely used. They’re mostly for puttingdata into

prepriritedforms,or for unusualreportsthatneeddifferenttab settingson

differentpages.

ThebasicideaisthatdiffenmtsetsoftabsgetstoredinwhattheEpsonpeople

callchanneZs(thinkofthemasseparatecolumnsoftabstops).Youcanstore

uptoeightdifferentchannels,solongastheytotalnomorethan64tabstops.

To settab stopsfora givenchannel(shownhereas c ), sendthiscommand:

cESC> b c nl n2 ... n64 cNUL>

ThisismuchthesameastheRgularvertical-tabsettingcommand,withthe

additionof thechannelc (inplaceof whichyouputa numberfromOto 7).

Thenl andti andsoon arethelinenumberswhereyouwantto setvertical

tab stops;againyoucan settabsat anyof up to 254positions.

Youcanclearallthetabsin achannelbynotfollowingthechannelnumber

c withany stops,butjust the <NUL>.

To movethe printpositionto tab stopsin a channel,sendthiscommand:

<ESC>/

wherecis thenumberofthechannelwithtab stopsyouwantto use.If that

channelhasno tab stops,thiscommandwilljust producea line feed.

5.5 CONTROLLING FONTS

5.5.1 Selectingfonts

WhenyoufirststartFX-850emulation,theStarLaserPrinter4givesyou12-

pointten-pitchCourierasitsdefaultfont.ButFX-850commandscangive

youmostvariationsonfontattributes,includingsubscripting,superscript-

ingandunderlining.Someofthecommandsinthissectionareimplemented

by.switchingfonts,whileothersarederivedfromthe currentfont.

on thecontrolpanel.
