Model #FM3667 Taillight Flasher

The FM3667 taillight flasher is designed to be utilized with the brake and

backup lights on most vehicles with a 12 VDC negative ground system and

positive side switched lights. This flasher has the isolating diodes for the

reverse wire that is now required by many new cars and trucks.

A properly installed FM3667 Flasher will alternate the brake lights

(excluding the third brake light) with the back up lights at 2.4 flashes per

second. The alternating red and white lights create an effective warning

signal to the rear of the vehicle that greatly reduces rear end collisions.

Flashing Headlight and Taillight Systems are intended for use on approved vehicles

ONLY. It is the responsibility of the user of these systems to ensure compliance to any

Federal, State, or Municipal regulations that may apply.

CAUTION: This flasher unit is designed for use on headlights totaling a maximum of

60 watts each side (5 amps per side).

PLEASE NOTE: This unit will not work on vehicles with ground side switched headlights.

Flashing the High Mounted Stop Lamp violates Federal Motor

Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) #108 which requires the High

Mounted Stop Lamp only to illuminate when applying the brakes.

CAUTION: Some vehicle manufacturers may not allow the use of this product

on vehicles they manufacture. Consult your operators manual

prior to installation. Make sure you fully read and understand all

instructions before attempting to install this flasher.

Installation • Mount the supplied flasher unit in the trunk near the brake lights or as close to the driver’s side taillight as possible. For pickup trucks, remove the driver’s side taillight housing and mount the flasher behind the taillight housing. • Although the flasher is water resistant, to ensure many years of trouble free operation, the flasher should be mounted in an area that is not exposed directly to water spray and high temperatures.

Shift Interlock Devices Most vehicles are equipped with an Ignition or Shift Interlock device that prevents the vehicle’s transmission from being shifted out of Park without the brake pedal being depressed. This can be verified by engaging the Emergency/Parking brake, starting the vehicle, then attempting to shift out of park without stepping on the brake pedal. You should not be able to shift out of Park if you have a Shift Interlock device.
