First,let’sexplainalittleaboutwhattheSidSpeedFixis.Basically,SidSpeedisavalueinyourwindowsregistrythat
regulates the speed of your FireWire bus. It can have a value from 0‐3 (0=S100 speed, 1=S200 speed, 2=S4

speed,and3=800speed).IfaSidSpeedvaluelargerthan3isused,thenWindowswillrejectthatanduseavalueof
0instead,soit’simportanttouseavalueof0‐3.
Normally, the default value for SidSpeed is 2, which corresponds to a transfer rate of 400 mbps (Fir
eWire 400).
Thisspeedisstandardformostaudio
interfaces,includingours.Theproblemisthattherearesituationswherethis
value can be lowered to “0” duringan OSupdate and resultin choppy and unusable performancefor streaming
