anairbagisobstructedbytheradio,itmaynotdeployasexpected.Itcouldalso
propeltheradiowithenoughforcetocauseseriousinjury.
Avoidtouchingtheheatsinkattherearoftheradiowhiletheradioisinuse.The
heatsinkcanbecomehotduringprolongeduse.
Donotinstalltheradioinfrontofavehicleheater.Theradiorequiresacoolairflow
overtherearheatsinkwhentransmittingtomaintainefficiency.
Donotmakeunapprovedmodificationstotheradio.Suchmodificationscouldvoid
thewarrantyandcausetheradiotooperateoutsideitsapprovedspecifications.
InterferencewithVehicleElectronics
SomeoftheelectronicsinyourvehiclemaybesusceptibletoRFenergywhenyourradiois
transmitting.Examplesofelectronicdevicesinyourvehiclethatcouldbeaffectedareanti‐
lock/anti‐skidbrakingsystems,cruisecontrolsystemsandfuelinjection
systems.Ifyour
vehicleisfittedwithanyofthesesystemspleaseconsultyourvehiclemanufacturerto
determinewhetherthesesystemsarelikelytobeaffectedbyyourradiowhenitis
transmitting.Carefulselectionofmountinglocationsandgoodinstallationtechniques
shouldgenerallyminimizeanyinterferencetoyourvehicleelectronics.
