Die Reichweite hängt von vielen Faktoren ab. Neben der gesetzlich festgelegten Sendeleistung spielen z. B. die Position der Antenne (sie sollte senkrecht stehen und frei abstrahlen können), die Energieversorgung (voll geladene Akkus schöpfen die Reichweite voll aus) und vor allem die Umgebung, in der gefunkt wird, eine Rolle. Jedes "Hindernis" (Hügel, Gebäude, Bäume) senkt die Reichweite, manche Materialien (z. B. Stahlbeton, Felsen) schirmen besonders stark ab.

Vorbereitungen für den Betrieb Gürtelclip anbringen/abnehmen Setzen Sie die Rillen am Gürtelclip auf die Führungsschienen oben am Gehäuse und schieben Sie den Gürtelclip nach unten, bis der Schnappriegel einrastet. Zum Abnehmen drücken Sie den Schnappriegel oben am Gürtelclip vom Gehäuse weg und schieben den Gürtelclip nach oben.
Aufladen der Akkupacks in der Ladeschale Schalten Sie die Funkgeräte aus! Stecken Sie das Netzteil in eine 230 V-Steckdose und verbinden es mit der Ladeschale. Stellen Sie die Funkgeräte in die beiden Ladeschächte. Die beiden Kontroll-Lampen an der Ladeschale leuchten rot, die Akkupacks werden nun geladen. Wenn die Kontroll-Lampen an der Ladeschale grün leuchten sind die Akkupacks vollständig geladen. Entnehmen Sie die Funkgeräte aus der Ladeschale.
Entsorgungshinweis Akkupack Verbrauchte Akkupacks gehören nicht in den Hausmüll! Bitte beachten Sie die nationalen Entsorgungsvorschriften und geben verbrauchte Akkupacks (in einer kleinen Plastiktüte) bei den entsprechenden Sammelstellen ab. Batteriesparschaltung/Batterie-low-Warnung Der Stromverbrauch dieses Funkgeräts ist sehr gering. Wird kein Signal empfangen, aktiviert sich automatisch die elektronische Batteriesparschaltung. Bei nachlassender Akkukapazität erscheinen im Display blinkend bA Lo .
Kanal auswählen Es stehen 8 festgelegte Kanäle zur Verfügung. Drücken Sie die CH s/t-Taste und wählen einen freien Kanal. Ein langer Tastendruck auf die CH s/t-Taste schaltet die Kanäle fortlaufend weiter. Hinweis: Stellen Sie immer bei beiden Funkgeräten denselben Kanal ein! Senden/Empfangen Halten Sie die PTT-Taste gedrückt und sprechen Sie im Abstand von ca. 5 cm mit normaler Lautstärke ins Mikrofon, im Display erscheint das TX-Symbol.
Pilotton-Verfahren CTCSS aktivieren/deaktivieren Drücken Sie 1 x die MENÜ-Taste: im Display blinkt die Pilotton-Nummer. Wählen Sie mit der CH s/t-Taste die gewünschte Pilotton-Nummer. Bestätigen Sie mit der -Taste: es ertönt ein zweifacher Quittungston. Zum Deaktivieren drücken Sie wieder 1 x die MENÜ-Taste: die PilottonNummer blinkt. Wählen Sie mit der CH s/t-Taste 00. Bestätigen Sie mit der -Taste: es ertönt ein zweifacher Quittungston.
Bestätigen Sie mit der -Taste, es ertönt ein zweifacher Quittungston, das VOX-Symbol erlischt. VOX-Ansprechempfindlichkeit Es stehen 5 Ansprechempfindlichkeits-Stufen zur Verfügung (1 = niedrigste, 5 = höchste Empfindlichkeitsstufe). Drücken Sie 4 x die MENÜ-Taste: LE wird angezeigt, die eingestellte Stufe und das VOX-Symbol blinken. Wählen Sie mit der CH s/t-Taste die gewünschte Ansprechempfindlichkeit. Bestätigen Sie mit der -Taste, es ertönt ein zweifacher Quittungston.
CTCSS-Code Suchlauf aktivieren/deaktivieren Drücken Sie 6 x die MENÜ-Taste: die zweistellige CTCSS-Nummer (00) und das Scan-Symbol blinken. Starten Sie den Suchlauf mit der CH s/t-Taste. Sie beenden den Suchlauf durch Drücken der -Taste. Das ScanSymbol erlischt und der zuletzt empfangene CTCSS-Code wird angezeigt. Zweikanal-Überwachung (Dual Watch) Wenn Sie nicht nur auf einem Kanal, sondern auf zwei Kanälen empfangsbereit sein möchten, benötigen Sie die Zweikanalüberwachung.
Roger Beep Wenn Sie nach dem Senden die PTT-Taste loslassen, wird automatisch noch ein Signalton gesendet. Dieser Ton signalisiert Ihrem Gesprächspartner, dass Sie Ihre Übertragung beendet haben und er sprechen kann (hilfreich z. B. bei gestörten Funkverbindungen). Roger Beep aktivieren deaktivieren Drücken Sie 9 x die MENÜ-Taste: OFF und das -Symbol blinken. Wählen Sie mit der CH s/t-Taste ON.
Starten Sie die Stoppuhr mit der CH s-Taste, stoppen Sie die Zeitnahme mit der CH t-Taste. Zum Fortsetzen der Zeitnahme drücken Sie die CH s-Taste, zum Zurücksetzen der Stoppuhr drücken Sie zweimal die CH t-Taste (anschließender Neustart durch Druck auf die CH s-Taste). Die Stoppuhr-Funktion wird automatisch deaktiviert, wenn die Stoppuhr nach einer Zeitnahme nicht innerhalb von 15 Sek. erneut gestartet wird (oder manuell durch Drücken der -Taste).
Battery-low-Warnung Bei geringer Akkukapazität erscheinen im Display blinkend der Warnhinweis bA Lo sowie das Batteriesymbol . Laden Sie die Akkupacks. Pflege-Hinweise Das Funkgerät ist nur wasserdicht nach IPX7, wenn die Anschlussbuchse für das Headset fest mit dem Gummistopfen verschlossen ist! Reinigen Sie die Gehäuse Ihrer Funkgeräte nur mit einem leicht angefeuchteten, fusselfreien Tuch, verwenden Sie keinesfalls Reinigungsoder Lösungsmittel.
Problembeseitigung Problem / Lösung Ihr Funkgerät lässt sich nicht einschalten. Laden Sie die Akkupacks. Sie können Ihren Funkpartner weder sprechen noch hören. Prüfen Sie, ob derselbe Kanal und (falls aktiviert) derselbe CTCSSTon eingestellt ist. Sie sind außerhalb der Reichweite, verringern Sie die Entfernung zu Ihrem Funkpartner. Keine Tastenfunktion Die Tastatursperre ist eingeschaltet. Deaktivieren Sie die Tastatursperre. Der Kanal ist ständig besetzt. Prüfen Sie die VOX-Einstellung.

Be sure to hand over the instructions in case you lend out or sell the radio set.
If you state the odor emissions or the formation of smoke, immediately switch off the radio set and remove the battery packs. Do not operate the radio set, if you detect any damage of the housing or the antenna. Contact a qualified workshop. Protect your radio sets and the accessories against strong vibrations and extreme temperatures (avoid operating temperatures below -10°C or above +40°C). Do not expose the radio set to direct sunlight for a prolonged period (e.g. shelf in the vehicle).
The range is a function of many factors. Apart from the statutory transmitting power other factors are relevant: e.g. the position of the antenna (it should be installed at right angle and send freely), the energy supply (fully charged battery packs fully exploit the reach) and above all the environment where you transmit. Each obstacle (hills, buildings, trees) reduces the range, some materials (e.g. reinforced concrete, pieces of rock) give rise for considerable screening effects.

Provisions for the operation Attaching/taking-off belt clip Place the grooves of the belt clip on the guide rails on the upper part of the housing and slide the belt clip downwards until the safety catch snaps in. For removing push the safety catch on top of the belt clip away from the housing and slide the belt clip upwards.
Charging the battery packs in the charger Switch off the radio sets! Plug the power supply unit into a socket (230 V) and connect it to the charger. Place the radio sets into the two charging shafts. Both control lamps on the charger emit red light, the battery packs are now being charged. If the control lamps light up green the battery packs are fully charged. Remove the devices. Safety instructions for the charger Only use the charger in closed rooms.
Information on disposal of battery packs Used up battery packs are not to be thrown into the domestic waste. Be sure to observe the national disposal regulations and dispose used up battery packs (inserted into a small plastic bag) with the corresponding collecting points. Battery save mode/battery low warning The power consumption of this radio set is very small. If no signal is received, the electronic battery stand-by mode is automatically activated.
Selecting the channel Eight channels are available. Press the CH s/t key and select a free channel. Through a long keystroke the channels are switched continuously. Note: Always adjust both radio sets to the same channel! Transmitting/receiving Hold the PTT key pressed and speak with normal voice level and a distance of approx. 5 cm into the microphone, the TX symbol is displayed. If your message is finished, release the PTT key, the TX symbol is no longer displayed.
Activating/deactivating the pilot tone process CTCSS Press the MENU key 1 x: The pilot tone number flashes on the display. Use the CH s/t key to select a pilot tone number. Confirm by pressing the key: A double beep tone sounds. For deactivating press again the MENU key: The pilot tone number flashes. Use the CH s/t key to select 00. key: A double beep tone sounds.
Confirm by pressing the key: A double beep tone sounds and the VOX symbol is no longer displayed. VOX sensitivity Five sensitivity levels are available (1 = lowest, 5 = highest sensitivity level). Press the MENU key 4 x: LE is displayed, the actual level and the VOX symbol are flashing. Use the CH s/t key to select the requested sensitivity level. Confirm by pressing the key: A double beep tone sounds. Automatic scan The automatic scan permits to find active channels quickly.
Activating/deactivating the CTCSS scan Press the MENU key 6 x: the adjusted CTCSS number (00) and the scan symbol are flashing. Use the CH s/t key for starting the scan. To deactivate scanning, press the key: The scan symbol is no longer displayed and the CTCSS code received last appears. Dual watch function If you wish to be ready-to-receive on both channels instead of only one channel, you require the dual watch function. With this function the radio set automatically switches over every 0.5 sec.
Roger beep When releasing the PTT key after transmission, a signal tone is automatically transmitted. This tone signals to your contact partner that your message is finished and your partner can talk (this is useful for instance for disturbed radio communications). Activating/deactivating the roger beep Press the MENU key 9 x: OFF and the roger beep symbol flashing. are Use the CH s/t key to select ON. Confirm by pressing the key: A double beep tone sounds and the roger beep symbol is displayed.
Use the CH s key to start the stop watch, use the CH t key to stop the time measurement. Press the CH s key to continue the time measurement, press the CH t key twice to reset the stop watch (re-start by means of the CH s key). The stop watch function stops automatically if the time measurement is not re-started again within 15 sec. (or manually by the means of the key). Note: Transmitting/receiving is possible during a time measurement.
Battery low warning If the capacity of the battery pack is low, the battery symbol appears on the display and bA Lo is flashing. Now you have to charge the battery pack. Care instructions The radio set is only waterproof according to IP X7 if the microphone socket is sealed with the rubber stopper! Clean the housings of the radio sets by means of a slightly damp, lintfree cloth, do not at all use detergents or solvents. Protect the radio sets against extreme temperatures and strong vibrations.
Troubleshooting Fault/Remedy Your radio set cannot be switched on. Charge the battery packs. You can neither speak nor hear your radio partner. Check whether the same channel and (if activated) the same CTCSS tone are adjusted. If you are out of reach, reduce the distance to your radio partner. No key function. The key lock is switched on. Deactivate the key lock. The channel is permanently busy. Check the VOX setting. If required, reduce the VOX sensitivity of the second device as well.
