Programmable lateral function key
Two different functions can be assigned to the lateral function key.
Function 1 is activated or deactivated through a short keystroke on
the function key, function 2 through a long keystroke.

SQ-Switch (analog mode only)
By briefly pressing the lateral function key (with factory setting), the
squelch is permanently open (during free radio communication). By
pressing the key once again, the squelch is closed again.
Channel scan (analog mode only)
The automatic channel scan permits to find active channels quickly.
It scans independently all of the 8 analog channels and stops as
soon as a signal exceeds the squelch threshold.
Start the channel scan by a long keystroke on the lateral function
key (with factory setting). The red status LED flashes. If a signal is
received on one of the analog channels, the green status LED lights
up. The radio set remains adjusted to the corresponding channel
