INTRODUCTION This bulletin contains instructions to assemble a receptacle onto any Style B
service fitting housings manufactured by Square D.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
RECEPTACLE ASSEMBLY Refer to the instructions and Figure 1 to assemble the service fitting housing.
NOTE: A receptacle requires the use of three 6-32 x .50-inch screws for
proper assembly.
1. Slide and center the speed nut(s) provided over the receptacle tab(s). Orient
the speed nut with the short side facing the top of the receptacle.
NOTE: If a receptacle tab has a spring-type grounding strap on one tab,
the speed nut may be omitted on that tab only. Use the grounding strap to
secure the screw. For receptacles without a spring-type grounding strap,
speed nuts must be installed on both tabs.
2. Attach the receptacle to the housing. Secure the middle hole first, then
the two outside holes with the 6-32 x .50-inch screws provided.

• This equipment must be installed and serviced only by qualified personnel.
• Turn off all power supplying this equipment before working on or
inside equipment.
• Always use a properly rated voltage sensing device to confirm power is off.
Failure to follow this instruction will result in death or serious injury.
