Receptacle Switches
Interlocked receptacle switches are furnished with a factory-installed, three-phase,
four-wire, Appleton Powertite
™
, Crouse-Hinds Style 2 Arktite
™
or Hubbellock™
receptacle. The fourth wire is connected to the switch equipment grounding terminal
and is not a solid neutral termination. Interlocking linkage between the receptacle and
switch mechanism prevents insertion or removal of the plug while the switch is in the
“ON’’ position or insertion of any plug other than specified. The interlocking
mechanism also prevents the switch from being turned “ON” if a plug has not been
fully inserted into the receptacle.
