he Brad Southard is Spyderco’s
first collaborative knife to feature
a “flipper” created by Kit Carson—a
small integral lever near the tang of the
blade that allows the knife to be opened with
a stroke of the index finger. It features a CTS™
204P hollow-ground blade that rotates on a
special captive ball-bearing pivot system for super-
smooth action. The Southard’s handle construction
includes a titanium liner and textured earth-brown G-10
scale on one side and a solid titanium scale on the other. The
solid scale is the understructure for the Reeve Integral Lock
(R.I.L.) mechanism and a pocket clip configured for right-side,
tip-up carry. The blade and handle components of the Southard
Folder feature a stonewashed finish.
Many applications require a knife that is non-reflective.
To adapt the Southard Folder to these applications, Spyderco
introduces a black-bladed version featuring a durable TiCN
coating with a handle scale machined from black G-10.

aniago, Italy’s LionSteel is one of Europe’s leading cutlery manufacturers. Their first collaboration
with Spyderco, the LionSpy, is a stout folding knife based on their award-winning SR-1 folder.
For extreme cutting performance, it features a 4.5mm-thick blade ground from Böhler-Uddeholm’s
premium Elmax steel—a third-generation powdered metallurgy steel. The blade is matched to an
equally robust handle constructed of a black G-10 scale and a solid titanium scale, both of which have
a corrugated texture to ensure decisive grip. The blade locks open via an enhanced Reeve Integral Lock
(R.I.L.) mechanism with a hardened steel insert to minimize wear and LionSteel’s patented RotoLock
secondary locking device. Every LionSpy comes complete with a zippered pouch and a specialized
pivot-pin-adjustment tool.
