NOTE: Always start at the lowest level and work your way up.
Fortrainingefciency,itisimportanttondtherightintensitylevelforyourdog.Thisiscalledthe
RecognitionLevel,atwhichyourdoglooksaroundincuriosityorickshisears.
FINDING YOUR DOG’S RECOGNITION LEVEL:
NOTE: Every dog is different and you cannot predict where your dog’s Recognition Level will be. Watch
closely for any slight change in behavior that demonstrates your dog is feeling the stimulation.
1. WiththeCollarReceiverturnedonandproperlyttedtoyourdog,settheRemoteTransmitter’s
IntensityDialatLevel1andpresstheContinuousstaticstimulationbuttonfor1to2seconds.
2.IfyourdogshowsnoreactiontoLevel1,gotoLevel2andrepeattheprocess.
3.YOUR DOG SHOULD NOT VOCALIZE OR PANIC WHEN RECEIVING STIMULATION. IF THIS
HAPPENS,THESTIMULATIONLEVELISTOOHIGHANDYOUNEEDTOGOBACKTOTHEPREVIOUS
LEVELANDREPEATTHEPROCESS.
4.Once you nd yourdog’s Recognition Level, thisis the levelyou should usewhen you begina
trainingexercise.
5. IfyouhaveprogressedtoLevel7whilesearchingforyourdog’sRecognitionLevelandyourdog
continuestoshownoresponse,checktoseeiftheCollarReceiverissnugagainstyourdog’sneck.
ThengobacktoIntensityLevel1andrepeattheprocess.Ifyourdogstilldoesnotindicateheis
feelingthestaticstimulation,youhavethreeoptions:trimthehairbeneaththeContactPoints,
switchtothelongerContactPointsincludedinyoursystem,orchangethestimulationrange.

IMPORTANT: The proper fit and placement of the Collar Receiver is important for effective
training. The Contact Points must have direct contact with your dog’s skin.

Pleasereadandfollowtheinstructionsinthismanual.Propertofthecollarisimportant.A
collarwornfortoolong,ormadetootightonthedog’sneckmaycauseskindamage.Thisis
calledbedsores;itisalsocalleddecubitusulcersorpressurenecrosis.
•Avoidleavingthecollaronthedogformorethan12hoursperday.
•Whenpossiblerepositionthecollaronthedog’sneckevery1to2hours.
•Checkthettopreventexcessivepressure;followtheinstructionsinthismanual.
•Neverconnectalead/leashtotheelectroniccollar;itwillcauseexcessivepressureon
thecontacts.
•Whenusingaseparatecollarforalead/leash,don’tputpressureontheelectroniccollar.
•Washthedog’sneckareaandthecontactsofthecollarweeklywithadampcloth.
•Examinethecontactareadailyforsignsofarashorasore.
•Ifarashorsoreisfound,discontinueuseofthecollaruntiltheskinhashealed.
•Iftheconditionpersistsbeyond48hours,seeyourveterinarian.

Thesestepswillhelpkeepyourdogsafeandcomfortable.Millionsofdogsarecomfortable
whiletheywearstainlesssteelcontacts.Somedogsaresensitivetocontactpressure.You
mayndaftersometimethatyourdogisverytolerantofthecollar.Ifso,youmayrelaxsome
oftheseprecautions.Itisimportanttocontinuedailychecksofthecontactarea.Ifrednessor
soresarefound,discontinueuseuntiltheskinhasfullyhealed.

With your dog standing (3A), center the
CollarReceiver sothe Contact Pointsare
underneathyourdog’sneck, touchingthe
skin (3B). If your dog has a long or thick
coat, you have two options to ensure
consistent contact: either trim
the hair
aroundtheContactPointsorswitchtothelongerContactPointsincludedwithyoursystem.
•YoumayneedtotrimthehairintheareaoftheContactPoints.Nevershavethedog’sneck;
thismayleadtoarashorinfection.
•Youshouldnotmakethecollaranytighterthanisrequiredforgoodcontact.Acollarthatistoo
tightwillincreasetheriskofpressurenecrosisinthecontactarea.
2. The CollarReceiver shouldtsnugly,yetlooseenough toallow one
ngertotbetweenthestrapandyourdog’sneck(3C).
3. Allow your dog to wear the collar for several minutes, and then
recheck the t. Check the t again as
your dog becomes more
comfortablewearingtheCollarReceiver.
