Surf Varg (12009) 6 balls or 1212 yds/1109 m
Size U.S. 11 (8 mm) circular knitting needle 40" [101.5 cm] long or size needed to obtain
gauge.
MEASUREMENTS
Approx 48 x 56" [122 x 142 cm].
INSTRUCTIONS
Cast on 97 stitches (sts). Do not join. Working
back and forth across needle in rows,
proceed as follows:
Foundation row: [Wrong side (WS)]. *Knit
1 stitch (K1). Increase 1 stitch by knitting into
front and back of next st (Kfb). Repeat (rep)
from * to last st. K1. 145 sts.
1st row: [Right side (RS)]. K1. *Slip 1 stitch
purl-wise with yarn in back. K1. Rep from * to
end of row.
2nd row: K1. *Purl 1 (P1). K1. Rep from * to
end of row.
These 2 rows form pattern (pat). Continue
(cont) in pat as established until work from
beginning (beg) measures 56" [142 cm],
ending on a WS row.
GAUGE
12 sts and 16 rows = 4" [10 cm] in pattern.
Next row: (RS). K1. *Knit next 2 stitches
together (K2tog). K1. Rep from * to end of
row. 97 sts.
