One size to fit average woman's head.
GAUGE
5 sts and 7 rows = 4” [10 cm] in stocking st.
INSTRUCTIONS
Cast on 26 sts.
Knit 5 rows (garter st), noting 1st row is WS.
Next row: (RS). K7. K2tog. K8. K2tog. Knit to end of row. 24 sts.
Beg on a purl row, work even in stocking st until Hat from beg measures 8” [20.5 cm],
ending on a purl row.
Shape top: 1st row: (RS). *K4. K2tog. Rep from * to end of row. 20 sts.
2nd and alt rows: Purl.
3rd row: *K3. K2tog. Rep from * to end of row. 16 sts.
5th row: *K2. K2tog. Rep from * to end of row. 12 sts.
7th row: *K1. K2tog. 8 sts.
Break yarn, leaving a long end. Draw end tightly through rem sts.
Sew center back seam.
