Magnet
A magnet is built into the Clinical Programmer. It is located on the back side of the Programmer
underneaththeindentwiththemagnetsymbol(shownbelow).
TheNSsystemhas thecapabilityofde tectingthepresenceofamagnet.ThemagnetputstheNSdevice
incommunicationmode,allowingit
toconnecttotheProgrammer.
An alternate function of the magnet is that by holding the magnet over the device long enough, all
stimulation therapy will be switched off. (Refer to “Workspace‐Profile>System” section for more
information).
PRECAUTION:Keep the programmer magnet away from credit cards. It may erase the
magneticstripandrenderthecarduseless.
ChargingtheClinicalProgrammerBattery
YouwillneedtheProgrammerChargerprovided,tochargethebatteryinyourClinicalProgrammer.It
takesapproximately2–4 hourstofully charge the battery.Thebattery charge level is indicatedin the
“ProgrammerStatusBar”atthebottomofthescreen.

2. ConnecttheChargertoyourProgrammer.
3. Whenthebatteryischarging,thebatteryicononthescreencontains“AC”.Whenthecharging
iscomplete,theindicatornexttothebatteryiconwillbeatapproximately100%.
WhentheClinicalProgrammerisconnectedtoapoweroutletasdescribedabove,itispoweredbythe
outlet and will
not use battery power.When the Clinical Programmer is charging, the Programmer
batteryiconreflectsthecurrentstatusofthebattery.ConnecttheClinicalProgrammertotheCharger
andattachtoanoutletregularlytokeepitcharged.
