Precautions
The following precautions should be taken to avoiddamage to the Clinical Programmer and to assure
properfunction:
• DonotdropormishandletheClinicalProgrammer.PhysicaldamagetotheClinicalProgrammer
mayimpairitsfunction.
• Do not spill fluids on or wash the Clinical Programmer. Excessive moisture may
impair its
function.Ifcleaningisnecessary,removesoilwithasoftdampcloth.
• DonotuseabrasiveorcausticcleaningproductsontheClinicalProgrammer.
• Do not attempt to open the case of the Clinical Programmer. Attempts to open the case may
exposetheClinicalProgrammerto
elementsthatalteritsfunction.
• TheClinicalProgrammerhasaninternalmagnet.KeeptheClinica l Programmerawayfromany
creditcards,harddrivesormagneticstoragedevicesasitmaydemagnetizethem.
• Donot operatetheClinicalProgrammeroutsidethetemperaturerangeof‐5°Cto45°C.Rapid
temperaturechanges
mayaffectproperdeviceoperation.
• DonotstoretheClinicalProgrammeroutsidethetemperaturerangeof‐10°Cto50°C.
• Donotleave the ClinicalProgrammer in a carorotherplaces wheretemperaturescan exceed
50°C.
• Do not burn or otherwise dispose of the Clinical Programmer. Fire
may cause the internal
batterytoexplode.
• DonotallowunauthorizeduseoftheClinicalProgrammertoavoidinjurytopatients.
• The NS device can only be programmed using Spinal Modulation’s Clinical or Patient
Programmer.Donottrytouseanyothermanufacturer’sdevicetoprogramit.
• Do
not use the Clinical Programmer or NS in the presence of explosive or flammable gases as
thismaycauseseriousinjury.
• IfthereisanyconcernregardingtheproperfunctionoftheSpinalModulationNSSystem,please
contactyourSpinalModulationrepresentative.
• DonotusetheProgrammerCharger
ifthepowercord isdamaged,excessivelywornorfrayed.
ThismaycauseinjuryordamagetheProgrammer.
• Frequent programming of the implanted device will cause the battery to deplete faster. Avoid
unnecessaryprogramming.
• The TNS should always be worn either outside of clothin g or outside the dressing holding
the
leadsinplace.
