1 Getting started
NOTE – The MobileMapper 50 handheld uses the Media Transfer Protocol (MTP) for
transferring data between the handheld and a computer. For the Microsoft® Windows®
XP operating system, Windows Media® Player 10 or later must be installed on the
computer to provide access to MTP devices such as the MobileMapper 50 handheld. For
the Windows Vista® and later operating systems, the MTP drivers are already provided by
Microsoft and should be found automatically. For other operating systems, you may need
a driver or separate application.
1. Connect the handheld to the computer using the USB cable that you received with the
handheld.
2. A window opens on the computer. Select Open device to view files. The handheld is lis-
ted as a portable device connected to the computer.
3. Copy or move files as required between the handheld and the computer.
