To clean and disinfect a transducer (wipe method)
1 Disconnectthetransducerfromthesystem.
2 Removeanytransducersheath.
3 Cleanthesurfaceusingasoftclothlightlydampenedinamildsoapordetergentcleaning
solutiontoremoveanyparticulatematterorbodyfluids.
Applythesolutiontotheclothratherthanthesurface.
4 Rinsewithwaterorwipewith
water‐dampenedcloth,thenwipewithadrycloth.
5 Mixthedisinfectantsolutioncompatiblewiththetransducer,followingdisinfectantlabel
instructionsforsolutionstrengthsanddisinfectantcontactduration.
6 Wipesurfaceswiththedisinfectantsolution.
7 Airdryortoweldrywithacleancloth.
8 Examinethetransducerandcablefordamage
suchascracks,splitting,orfluidleaks.
Ifdamageisevident,discontinueuseofthetransducer,andcontactSonoSiteoryourlocal
representative.

1 Disconnectthetransducerfromthesystem.
2 Removeanytransducersheath.
3 Cleanthesurfaceusingasoftclothlightlydampenedinamildsoaporcompatiblecleaning
solutiontoremoveanyparticulatematterorbodyfluids.
Applythesolutiontotheclothratherthanthesurface.
4 Rinsewithwaterorawipe
withwater‐dampenedcloth,andthenwipewithadrycloth.
5 Mixthedisinfectantsolutioncompatiblewiththetransducer,followingdisinfectantlabel
instructionsforsolutionstrengthsanddisinfectantcontactduration.
6 Immersethetransducerintothedisinfectionsolutionnotmorethan12‐18 inches(31‐46 cm)
fromthepointwherethecable
enterstheconnector.
Followtheinstructionsonthedisinfectantlabelforthedurationofthetransducer
immersion.
7 Using theins tru ctionsonthedisinfectantlabel,rinsetothepointofthepreviousimmersion,
andthenairdryortoweldrywithacleancloth.
8 Examinethetransducerandcablefordamagesuch
ascracks,splitting,orfluidleaks.
Ifdamageisevident,discontinueuseofthetransducer,andcontactSonoSiteoryourlocal
representative.
