WARNING:
To ensure high quality images, all
patient images must be obtained
by qualified and trained individuals.
To avoid patient injury, IMT results
should not be used as a sole
diagnostic tool. All IMT results
should be interpreted in
conjunction with other clinical
information or risk factors.
To avoid measurement errors, all
measurements must be of the
common carotid artery (CCA). This
tool is not intended for measuring
the bulb or the internal carotid
artery (ICA).
To avoid incorrect calculations,
verify that the patient information,
date, and time settings are
accurate.
To avoid misdiagnosis or harming
the patient outcome, start a new
patient information form before
starting a new patient exam and
performing calculations. Starting a
new patient information form
clears the previous patient’s data.
The previous patient’s data will be
combined with the current patient
if the form is not first cleared. See
To create a new patient
information form” on page 34.
