Getting Started
To apply a transducer sheath
SonoSiterecommendstheuseofmarketcleared,
transducersheathsforintracavitaryorsurgical
applications.To lessentheriskofcontamination,
applythesheathonlywhenyouarereadyto
performtheprocedure.
1 Placegelinsidethesheath.
2 Insertthetransducerintothesheath.
3 Pullthesheathoverthetransducerandcable
until
thesheathisfullyextended.
4 Securethesheathusingthebandssupplied
withthesheath.
5 Checkforandeliminatebubblesbetweenthe
faceofthetransducerandthesheath.
Bubblesbetweenthefaceofthetransducer
andthesheathmayaffecttheultrasound
image.
6 Inspectthesheathtoensurethatthere
areno
holesortears.

WARNING:
To prevent contamination, the use
of sterile transducer sheaths and
sterile coupling gel is
recommended for clinical
applications of an invasive or
surgical nature. Do not apply the
transducer sheath and gel until you
are ready to perform the procedure.
