ThingMagic Nano User Guide 1
www.JADAKtech.com
1 Introduction
This document applies to the ThingMagic Nano embedded module Ultra High Frequency (UHF) RAINĀ®
Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) module reader that you can integrate with other systems to create
RFID-enabled products. This document is for hardware designers and software developers.
Applications to control the ThingMagic Nano module can be written using the high level MercuryAPI
version 1.31.1 and later. The MercuryAPI supports Java, .NET and C programming environments. The
MercuryAPI Software Development Kit (SDK) contains sample applications and source code to help
developers get started demoing and developing functionality. For more information on the MercuryAPI see
the MercuryAPI Programmers Guide and the MercuryAPI SDK, available on www.jadaktech.com.
Release Notes
The information in this document is relevant to Nano with Firmware Ver. 1.9.0 and later. This firmware is
not compatible with any other ThingMagic modules.
Nano firmware version 1.9.0 has been developed in conjunction with MercuryAPI and should be used with
that version (or higher) to achieve best results. Previous versions of the API will not support all the features
of this firmware release. See Mercury API Documentation page for release notes and the programmers
guide for further information on features and functions.
This document explains how to set up the reader, how to configure it for network operation, and how to use
the browser-based interface. If you operate the Nano module with firmware newer than this, refer to the
corresponding Firmware Release Notes for operational differences from what is in this User Guide.
Release notes include new features or known issues as well as all changes since this User Guide was last
updated. Release notes are downloaded from the same web site where you obtained this document.
